Otis College’s MFA Graphic Design Viewbook
This viewbook was designed as a layered reading experience—two nested books within a folded poster, each revealing a different facet of Otis College’s MFA Graphic Design program. Our design process focused on the structure of the object, as the physical nesting mirrors the progression of the program. We used scale shifts, visual bleed illusions, and deliberate pacing to guide the reader through pragmatic information, portfolio work, and conceptual framing. At the center, a blank white book leaves room for prospective students to imagine their own contribution.
Finally, on the printing press, we swapped standard CMYK inks with fluorescent Pantones, resulting in unusual color blendings and unrealistic photographic results.
